Work Hard, Run Hard

The next four days are going to be crazy when it comes to work.  During these four days my day will begin around 5am and end around 9pm.  I will have a couple of hour breaks throughout the day.  Beginning my day a half hour earlier shouldn't be to much of a hassle when it comes to diabetes, the tough part will be eating dinner earlier and having to work after dinner.  The CGM is charged and ready for the four days, the CGM will help tremendously but I still believe the next four days will be tough.

Today was a bit of a test run.  Work began at at 6:30 this morning and didn't end until 5:30.  I had a couple of minor lows, one at lunch and one just around 4pm.  These lows were nothing major but they are something that I wish I could eliminate for the next four days.  After work rather than going home and relaxing I decided to headed to the weekly fun run down at the beach.  Usually I have an hour or two to relax before the runs, tonight that was not the case.  I was worried that my body would be tired, I'm happy that I was wrong.  My body felt far from 100% but I believe the ten mile run last Friday helped me a lot.  Three miles didn't seem to far after the ten mile run, know that I pushed myself a little bit harder.  I figured it is only twenty minutes of pain when its over I can have dinner and relax.  What I got was my second fastest time for the run this summer.  I came in with a time of 22:52, only my second sub 23 minute time this summer on the course.  I'm not sure if it was not having any down time that helped but whatever it was I will take it.  I was very happy that my blood sugar was at 70 after the run, I could enjoy my dinner and go to bed in a little while and have to worry about my blood sugar to much.
