On Wednesday I headed to my primary care doctor to get a cyst looked at on my neck, as well as a stye in my left eye. I got eye drops and setup an appointment with a surgeon to have the cyst removed. Before heading out I mentioned the dizziness and lack of balance. After a couple test the doctor suggested an MRI and blood work to make sure everything was ok.
This is morning I got a call from the doctor informed me that the MRI was normal and that my blood work was ok but my white blood cell count was at 3.9 when it should be at 4.5 to 10. With my the cyst on my neck that could be the reason for the low WBC. I will have blood drawn again in January to see what's going on.
Obviously I'm a little worried but I'm still feeling strong. Having an athletic trainer in my life has helped keep me calm and confident. It will be business as usual moving forward, with a run this weekend and possibly a new winter training plan. Ice skating will be a nice change of pace when it comes to training, I just need to learn how to skate!!!
