This morning I woke up to nice steady rain falling which meant the first two hours of work would be very slow. It is Tuesday that means a cereal morning, Monday, Wednesday and Friday are eggs, multigrain toast with peanut butter mornings. It is sad at how scheduled my meals are but it is what works for me, most of the time. Knowing my morning would be slow I took extra insulin to cover my breakfast. An hour later my blood sugar which was in range quickly sky rocketed just like the night before. I took more insulin but I stayed out of range for a few hours. The only common theme was the raisin bran. I don't need to run any more tests the raisin bran is kicking my butt.
On Thursday I will return to eating a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios and my usual insulin to cover my breakfast. This is not my first failure with raisin bran but I thought I could handle it, I was wrong. The worse part was that my blood sugar stayed in range since 10am, if it wasn't for thinking I'm better than raisin bran I would've been perfect....maybe. I will be happy making my eggs tomorrow morning and knowing how to handle them.
