Ever since that day I have had a love hate relationship with New York City when it comes to running. This summer when I got an email about the NYC half marathon I had to enter the raffle. This past weekend I received an email saying that I had been picked to run the half marathon. At a time when I needed some good news that email was just what I needed. A half marathon, my favorite distance, in one of the biggest cities in the world, it doesn't get any better. The NYC half will be my fifteenth half marathon, I have experience and confidence, both of which I was lacking when I ran the marathon.
My goal is to run a sub 1:45:00 half in NYC, that would be a personal best and make me feel better about how bad I ran the marathon. I'm now in love with NYC and want to try and run my own NYC triple crown, the NYC half marathon, marathon and the NYC ultra!! The ultra is a 60k and would be the most difficult of the triple crown. First things though, I will PR in March and show NYC that it I can run in the city that never sleeps!!
