The 2018 cycling season has unofficially begun, with many teams holding their winter training camps this past week. As always I’m not worried about any other team, I’m focused on what Team Novo Nordisk is doing. As many know the team unveiled their new kit, gone is the white kit that fans have come to know. It has been replaced with a dark blue, so dark that many have mistaken it for black. Below is a photo showing the changes and the meaning of the lighter blue circle that goes around the mid chest region. Those familiar with diabetes will know exactly what the circle means.
On Monday, Team Novo Nordisk held a live question and answer on Facebook with members of the 2018 Team Novo Nordisk Pro Cycling team. I was able to escape from work for a few minutes to checkout the live Q&A and must say I loved the idea and I hope that the team will continue doing things like this for fans. I can't recall a cycling team ever doing this, talk about letting the fans have an inside look at the team!! Although it is early in the season the team is living up to "Everyone with diabetes is a part of the team" from tips on dealing with diabetes around the holidays to tips from the riders Team Novo Nordisk is embracing being a role model for anyone living with diabetes. I have said it many times but the Team is a family and that is evident so far this season. The 2018 season is going to be a special one for not only the members of Team Novo Nordisk but for its fans as well.
