The odds are stacked against Team Novo Nordisk this weekend when they race in the Philadelphia International Cycling Classic. The race will have Twenty-three teams that will be looking to put a rider on the podium. Last year Team Novo Nordisk rider Javier Megias finished in 7th place. This year he will be determined to get on that Podium. Having experience will be big on Sunday as the race ends with a very difficult climb.
As always I have high expectations for Team Novo Nordisk. This may sound a little odd but I'm sure everyone is used to my odd ways by now. I can see the next Team Novo Nordisk commercial when a team member wins or is on the podium on Sunday. A little imagination is needed but imagine a commercial starting with a younger Javier Megias testing his blood sugar at the dinner table, it then flashes to him racing the Philly Classic. It then flashes back to him racing as a teen with diabetes, then back to Philly. It does one more flashback and then it talks about Javier being diagnosed at age 15 while showing photos of Javier. It then fades to find Javier running up the stairs of the Philadelphia Museum of Art with his bike and holding the bike up as he is mobbed by children living with diabetes. Team Novo Nordisk text appears and says we are changing diabetes!!! End of commercial!!
I don't know about you but I think that sounds amazing!! I will be following the race closely on my cell phone on Sunday and hope that my commercial dream comes true when a Team Novo Nordisk member wins the Philly Classic.
