No matter how many bike rides I do the Rhode Island Tour De Cure will always be my favorite. Three years ago I rode in my first RI tour, I didn't know what to expect but I was happy to be riding for diabetes. What I got was a bike ride and day that changed my life, the Rhode Island tour has a special place in my heart. Today I will give you ten reasons why any Tour De Cure event is special!!.

10-Red Riders-The tour makes sure that anyone riding with diabetes gets a jersey that lets everyone know that they are not letting diabetes get the best of them.

9-Scenic Routes-Riding a bike is fun but when you ride a bike route with a glorious view, things don't get any better!!

8-Everyone has a story-Everyone that is at the tour is there for a reason. They may be at tour for a friend, family member or themselves but they all want to stop diabetes.

7-The Cookout-Nothing like great food and great people after a bike ride.

6-New Friends-The people you meet will become instant friends. Diabetes can always bring people together.

5-The Stories-Everyone has a diabetes story, hearing how other people live with diabetes is always a highlight of the Tour.

4-The Children Living With Diabetes-It's amazing to see all of the children riding a bike to stop a diabetes. They are their to support friends and family living with diabetes.

3-The American Diabetes Staff-It may be a job for them but they make it their life. They put on the Tour and do all that they can to raise funds and Stop Diabetes.

2-The Volunteers-These are people that give up a whole day to make sure things like registration and rest stops run smoothly. Just like the riders they are their for someone that is effected by diabetes.

1-RESEARCH-All of the money raised goes directly to diabetes research. The money raised goes towards a cure.

Tour De Cure is a great event and I encourage everyone to help in someway. Please visit
