"Stay"cation Recap

I'm very happy to report that our "stay"cation was amazing and all went very very well.  For some reason whenever Leanne and I go to our secret "stay"cation location my blood sugars are always a little lower than normal.  I tried my best to prevent this but when we arrived and had a nice lunch I was a little to timid with my insulin dosage and shot up to 273 for a short time.  An hour or two later the normal low returned, of course I had a snack and fixed it promptly but my blood sugar would not go above 100 for some time after that.  I'm very happy that this four hour time frame was the only tough diabetes time of the weekend.

With almost perfect numbers for the rest of the weekend I was able to fully enjoy, the amazing meals, entertainment and our time at the spa.  I did have one odd moment at the spa however, a big sign much like the one below told me that I was unable to use the sauna or steam room because of my diabetes.  I did not listen but I do wonder why.  All in all it was a great weekend and I'm very happy that Leanne and I decided to get away.

You know, come to think of it, there's a sign like that on the sauna at the YMCA. I use the sauna all the time and haven't noticed anything. Wonder what all the worry is about?
