After a small lunch and a unit of insulin, I was a little happy to see that the rain was still falling. As weird as this sounds I have never run in the rain, I was excited to get out in the rain and go for a run. Not even a quarter mile in to my two mile run the rain picked up, it didn't take to long for my entire body to be soaked. I was happy that I stayed warm while running, I was able to enjoy my run and enjoy running in the puddles, it's weird but I turn in to a little kid when I run or bike in the rain. After my run my blood sugar was at 137, I had a Fiber One bar and got ready to go for my bike ride. As I jumped on the bike the rain had stopped and I was very happy to be back on the bike. I have missed it, a few miles in I could feel that I was using some muscles that had not been used for sometime. The pain went away as I got near the ten mile mark, that would be the only pain I would feel all afternoon. My pump did give me a bit of a problem while riding, it had my blood sugar at 67 for most of the ride, the alarm would keep beeping every 30 minutes. I felt great and knew the CGM was off a bit.
The biggest challenge of the day would be my blood sugar after going for a bike ride. My blood sugar was at 134 when I got home, I quickly took six units of insulin and grabbed a yogurt and some peanut butter to get some protein in my body to help it recover. Two hours after my ride my blood sugar is at 175, I will take it, it has been a while since I have been on the bike and to be under 200 after working out is a victory for me.
