Tuesday it was back to work for 6 and a bike ride at 3pm. No problems all day and I felt great on the bike, nothing is more relaxing than 25 miles in farm country and a bunch of hills. After the ride however I started to feel off. I'm not sure if it was dehydration or my body being run down but some stomach issues made Tuesday night very interesting.
Wednesday it was more of the same but with a side of dizziness. With a long day of work ahead of me I made sure to stay hydrated and work through it. I knew I was off when a coworker asked if I was ok. As soon as I got home from work it was off to bed but not before a check of my temperature and of my blood sugar. The temperature was fine but like most of the day my blood sugar was above my set range. All I could think of was more rest and let whatever was making me feel off run its course.
This morning I was a new person, bouncing off the wall at 5am and ready for the day ahead. I made sure to stay hydrated and eat light just to not upset anything. Now I'm left sitting here wondering if a 30k and 25 mile bike ride took to much of a toll or if I just had a little bug. Weather permitting I'll get a short run in just to see how my body is feeling. With more races scheduled in the coming weeks getting back to one hundred percent is a must.
