My half marathon is not until Sunday morning but I already have my supplies ready. For some reason I'm putting to much pressure on myself for this race. I have been talking about it all week at work and even had the guys guess what my time will be. I believe I'm so excited because for the first time since the NYC Marathon I feel great physically.
In the photo you will notice that I will be wearing a cycling jersey to run. It isn't the most comfortable shirt to wear but it works, having the three pockets helps tremendously when it comes to all of my diabetes supplies. I can easily run with my tester, cgm and any food that I may need. With a regular tshirt and a pair of shorts I can only carry my cgm, and a couple of gu packets. I may look a little odd but I'd rather control my diabetes than look good, plus the jersey is amazing and I'm pumped to run in such a great jersey.
You will notice that I have a lot of caffeine products, lately I have been hitting a wall around mile 10. I'm hoping the gu with a little caffeine will help me in the final 3.1 of the race. It is very strange I need to start slow so I will not be using any gu until mile 5 so that I'm nice and relaxed early in the race. It's crazy how much can go in to a race. I can't wait for Sunday!!
