Coming Undone

I love living with diabetes because at the end of the day I'm the one who makes all of the decisions. If my blood sugar is out of range I can't blame someone I can only blame myself. That's just how it works, from insulin amounts too the food I eat I dictate what my blood sugar should do.

Sometimes the unexplained happens however, Saturday night while I was asleep somehow my insulin pump became unhooked and my body was not receiveing any insulin. I'm not sure how long this went on for but my blood sugar had climbed out of range and I wasn't feeling good at all. My body felt like I had just been on my bike for eight hours straight.

Of course this whole situation could have been averted if I had my CGM connected but of course a night off due to the sensor ending earlier in the evening. Anyway a morning of getting my blood sugar back in range was not how Mothers Day should have been. I tried my best to play through the pain but an exhausted body and out of range blood sugars had me acting nothing like myself.

As the day went on I began to feel better and Mothers Day was back to normal. Accidents and mistakes happen and they happen on important days. All I can do is learn from my mistakes and do my best to avoid this mistake.
