Odd Day

Today was one of those days where everything seemed off.  Most of the day I was just not happy and wanted to be alone most of the day.  These days happen every now and again, it has nothing to do with my blood sugar it is just one of those days.  I'm very lucky to have a job where I can go off and do my own thing, I was able to spend a majority of the day alone and only focusing on the task at hand.

I was happy to go out to dinner with a close friend and enjoy a good meal.  As we were leaving the restaurant a child came up to me and said "Mr. Noonan, how are you?"  I was taken a back and quickly answered "I'm good" smiled and wondered why this child came up to me.  I didn't recognize him and wondered why he was talking to me and how he knew me.  When he told me that I had spoken at his school and that he enjoyed my talk, I quickly smiled and asked how his summer was going.  It's weird how this minute long meeting changed my day.  When I got in my car I had to sit there for a while and take it all in, my life has changed dramatically in three years.  I'm not the same person anymore, I have changed so much and I owe all of it to my amazing wife.  Although the change has been good it has made some aspects of life very tough.  When your world is turned upside down it's very tough but when you change your whole life you don't realize the effect it has on everyone around you.  I really don't know how to put it but I will quote the great Jimmy Valvano to try and get my feelings across.  "I urge all of you, all of you, to enjoy your life, the precious moments you have. To spend each day with some laughter and some thought, to get you're emotions going. To be enthusiastic every day and as Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Nothing great could be accomplished without enthusiasm," to keep your dreams alive in spite of problems whatever you have. The ability to be able to work hard for your dreams to come true, to become a reality."
