Normal Again

Just over a week ago I had the worse race of my career. Post race I kept saying "things happen it was just a bad day" I truly believed this. Two days later I'd hit a truck while on the bike. Two days after that I went for another run and just like the other two events my blood sugar was out of range. Was this just a bad stretch or did I lose my blood sugar management magic?

Tonight as I began to stretch for a run I was very nervous. I wanted to enjoy myself and my new running location but at the same time I wanted a good mile pace and most importantly a blood sugar that was in range. As I started out on my new route a smile came to my face, I felt strong and was enjoying every step. As I got further and further the smile never left. I don't know if it was that I get lucky to be running after getting hit by a vehicle or if it was other things but I was truly happy for every step.

That smile got even bigger as I got back to my car at the local high school and tested my blood sugar. Seeing my blood sugar in range was the perfect ending to a perfect run. I will enjoy tonight but tomorrow is a new day and a day that will see me back on the bike. I'll be out in the woods far away from traffic but as always I will be doing all that I can to keep my blood sugar in range!!
