What about fitness? What do I do while my it-band is strengthened and recovers. To keep my fitness level up and not lose the cardio base that I have built I will be on the bike until October 20th. The bike will allow me to work on endurance, breathing and keeping my physical fitness at its current level. The bike will also not put as much stress on my it-band which will help in the healing process. On October 20th I have a 5k that I would like to run to see where I'm at going in to the marathon.
I feel a lot better knowing exactly what the problem is and how I can solve it. Last night I was honestly scared and thought all of the training was for nothing. Now I can get back to my normal fun and crazy thoughts, like what kind of songs about New York City should I listen to while running the marathon? I have my normal running playlist but would love to throw in some songs about NYC. I have a few in mind, I need Billy Joel what is running in NYC without Billy Joel, I was thinking New York state of mind would be appropriate. But I think I also need some rap, weird I know but I need some Jay-Z and Biggie Smalls to be in my ears while running in NYC. The song below however has a special place in my heart and will be on the playlist, it takes me back to my old life. When I hear it I go back to the ride up to Patriots games in 2002 and not remembering the ride home after the games. Now I want to hear this song as I'm in the best shape of my life, have control of my diabetes and am running the best marathon in the world.
