I know what I need to do to be successful on Saturday, I know what I need to do diabetes wise as well. My long acting insulin intake will drop dramatically starting Wednesday night. My long training runs have ended with blood sugars that are out of range. That has taught me that I can't just lower my long acting insulin the day before, that wont work. I have found what foods will work this week to have me ready for the race, a week of pasta, salmon and potatoes will be my "secret" foods. I have my baby food ready for the race but am nervous on what I need to eat while running. I have power bars but will my stomach be able to handle it? If I puke while racing, I puke and move on, nothing will stop me!!
Five days to go and I've never felt so good before a race. Two years of training and becoming mentally strong will payoff on Saturday!!
