Athletes are a lot like those that are living with diabetes, they look at good fats and bad fats, looking at protein as well as carbohydrates. Now imagine an athlete living with diabetes, I don't believe I'm a true athlete but do my share of cardio. As I begin really training hard for a 50k in May I'm worried about the days, weeks and months ahead. I'm going to lose weight, after three pounds I'm hoping to stay at 160 until the 50k. That will not happen, my diet is so structured that I find it very difficult to have the four thousand calories needed to stay at 160. I like fatting foods, I'm human but while training I find it very very difficult to buy anything that is fried or contains bad fat. What that means is my diet is made up of a lot of fruit, pasta, and chicken. All foods that don't carry the highest calories.
I'm desperately looking to find a good "diet" that will help me while I'm training and one that will keep my weight where it needs to be. As always any suggestions are welcome!!
