My rounds depend on my blood sugar, in range blood sugars make golf a lot easier. When I’m in range, I play well and I’m not getting angry after a bad shot. Of all sports that I play golf is the one that is difficult to play when I’m out of my set range.
Today I had a day off and a round of golf with a good friend was a great way to spend the morning. My buddy knows how well I can play and when I told him my blood sugar was out of range he made sure I’d be ok and then said “hey I have a chance today”. I would shoot a six over on the first four holes, it was ugly, I couldn’t do anything right. Then my blood sugar got back in range and I started to play a lot better.
It is crazy to me that I can swing that much so quickly. I obviously try to keep my blood sugar in range all the time but when it is out of range it effects everything going on in my life. I’m excited to get back on the course and do so with a blood sugar that is in range. If I do that I think I can compete and have fun.
