Today as we celebrated the baptism of "Minnie" and "Sharky" I enjoyed each and every minute. All morning I managed my blood sugars as best as I could to keep them in range, I had messed up a wedding I wasn't going to mess up another huge milestone in our lives. As our family was surrounded by friends and family I had an emotional minute while I tested my blood sugar, it all hit me at that time. To have the life I have always wanted after being in a dark place for so long is amazing.
On such a special day it was fitting that a team of cyclists had a great day 3,000 miles away. As I celebrated two very special lives with the most amazing friends and family I was brought to tears. Later in the day I watched the team of cyclists that motivated me to take control of my diabetes and in turn save my life race on one of the worlds biggest stages.
I'm not sure what the future holds for our family, I just know that I'm very very happy to be alive so that I can watch our family do amazing things in the world because of the support of our friends and family. Receiving texts from friends and family that were unable to attend because they're living across the country means the world to to myself and my family. A sincere thank you to each and every person for everything that they have done, not just today but for everyday.
