Many times I have written about how Team Novo Nordisk is a family, the riders on the pro team are like brothers. From picking on each other via social media to helping each other when things get difficult Team Novo Nordisk is a family. The development team house is a family in the making, from assigning chores to figuring out what to watch on television they have to know each other and get along. Becoming a family is made a little bit easier by having cycling and diabetes in common, I can only imagine what a normal day is like. I imagine team members wake around the same time and have breakfast together, what a start to the day!! Imagine having a fellow diabetic with you every morning at breakfast, it'd be amazing. "My blood sugar was this, what were you?" "I was this, you're having eggs and a bagel? how do you cover that?" I imagine that is a normal conversation. Breakfast is over time for work, they head out grab their bikes and off they go for rides that last a majority of the day with a pit stop to eat and enjoy some coffee. Back home and spending the rest of the day together or going off on your own. I would imagine some very intense video games are played and from the video I have a feeling a lot of networking and other activities go on while on their phones or computers.
A four minute video from inCycle has me wanting to ride my bike to Atlanta to live in the house for a week!! I'm sure the cops would show up and remove me from the house but I'm not lying when I say I would love to spend a week at the house and just live like a team member for the week. It is by no means glamorous but this video takes the fan inside their lives. Team Novo Nordisk development team members are racing all over the world all year, you get a small peak at the living out of a suitcase life that they have. They are a family and I gurantee that each and every member of the house would do anything for anyone that lives their. They are doing all of this with diabetes and that is the most inspiring part, they have all heard that they can't do something because of diabetes and they are proving to themselves and people all over the world that anything is possible with diabetes!!
