When you first sign up for GLU you can select your mixology, I selected, pumper, exercise fanatic, research participant, advocate, techie and cgm user. GLU then takes your selection and puts you in groups with other people that selected the same items in their mixology. That helps a ton when you have question, a person that is an animal lover doesn't want to see my question about what to drink while cycling. My question goes to people that selected exercise fanatic and stays away from people that did not select that option. GLU also has a great question of the day feature that makes me want to visit on a daily basis. Todays question is do you ever lick your finger after you check? I of course clicked yes and was happy to see a lot of other people chose yes as well.
Taken from the GLU about us page-The mission of the T1D Exchange is to improve quality of life for people with type 1 diabetes by empowering them to engage with researchers, clinicians, and industry. Through our patient community (Glu), Biorepository and T1D Clinic Registry, the T1D Exchange dramatically improves the availability and richness of information sharing – this simplifies the ways stakeholders collaborate in the research and treatment of type 1 diabetes.
GLU is great and I encourage eevryone to check it out and sign up. You will be making new friends in no time and will be helping diabetes research while doing so!!
