As the 2015 cycling season comes to a close later this week, members of Team Novo Nordisk and their fans have big smiles on their faces.  This past week Scott Ambrose and Ruud Cremers returned to racing after injuries from crashes earlier in the season.  With a healthy squad at the Tour of Hainan Team Novo Nordisk has looked very strong so far.  For the first two days of the Tour of Hainan a Team Novo Nordisk member was in the top ten of the stage and they have a had a rider in the top 25 for the first six stages.  With three stages left in the Tour of Hainan I wouldn't be surprised to see a Team Novo Nordisk member on the podium for one of those stages.

The 2015 season has not ended just yet and I can't wait for 2016.  Team Novo Nordisk has proved that they can compete with the best in the world.  The goal is still the 2021 Tour de France, although the team has a ways to go before they reach the Tour it is still possible.  From the outside it seems that the team is ahead of schedule and that they are becoming a team each and every day.  The team members are learning more and more about each other with each and every race they compete in.  The results from the last month show that the train is getting stronger and that they will be a force to be reckoned with in 2016.

For myself and many around the globe Team Novo Nordisk is diabetes.  Diabetes and cycling are exactly the same, you could feel great and have a bad race or a bad day when it comes to your blood sugars.  The key is to learn from each and every experience.  Team Novo Nordisk has had quite a few ups and downs this year, sounds like my blood sugars for the year.  As Team Novo Nordisk sits down and looks back at the past year they will learn a lot again just like someone living with diabetes.  We are learning what works and what doesn't, will we ever be perfect?  Probably not.  That doesn't deter us though, we want to be the best diabetics that we can be and we will never stop working.  Will Team Novo Nordisk ever be perfect?  Probably Not.  However they will work tirelessly to improve and to have more riders on the podium in 2016.  They will be better and they will be in the Tour de France within the next five years!!

Your dedication and determination are inspiring! It's great that diabetes will not stop you from pursuing your passion. Instead you even use it to push yourself to becoming even better at cycling. Hope to see your team in the Tour de France!
