False Feelings

The best part about working with a fellow diabetic is that we can finally ask each other odd questions.  For the last week or so the way I have been feeling has not correspond with my blood sugars.

Often when you feel low or high a majority of the time the blood sugar matches.  For me I have felt like I'm above 200 but my blood sugar will be around 130, I have also felt like I was at 60 and I was at 170.  I have no clue why but I was happy when John asked me about it at work today.  He has been having the same problem as I, he will feel low or high and his blood sugar will be right where it should be.  After talking about it for a while we didn't figure anything out, we don't know why it happens or what causes it.  I believe we both feel a little better knowing that we are not the only ones feeling low or high when our blood sugar is fine.  Knowing that makes me feel a lot better, I'm always worried about the way I'm feeling when it comes to my diabetes, having someone to talk to helps tremendously.

I hope that John and I are not the only one that have had this problem.  I'm very interested in finding out why exactly this happens however.  I would love to hear from anyone that has had the same feelings or knows exactly why this may happen.

This happened to me again tonight...felt like I was over 200 about an hour post meal, only to test and find I was 81. Good thing I didn't do my blind bolus that I sometimes do...I think for me anyway, this tends to happen when I've eaten something saltier and/or I haven't had enough water...I definitely tend to associate thirst with being on the higher side. Could it be that maybe this has been happening more frequently lately because its summer and we're just catching ourselves in times that we need to rehydrate?
