Riding these beautiful roads was more than I expected, it was the most beautiful ride but I didn't realize just how many hills I would encounter. It felt like I was climbing all day, the one time I had a nice decent the road was under construction. It was decent where you grab the handlebars a little harder and make sure to break a little to make the turns, and that is when the road is not under construction. With a track like substance on the road and numerous potholes I was white knuckled making the decent, maxing out at almost 45mph was not my intention and now that I'm thinking about it I should've just walked the bike down. Wait who am I kidding I'd do it exactly the same if I could!!
Diabetes wise I was faced with a very mild early fall day. I didn't do my best to stay hydrated, I was a little to busy enjoying the views and focusing on the task at hand. While riding it wasn't a problem but post ride the dehydration feeling is much like an out of range blood sugar so I have made sure to look at my CGM and test before eating anything. With my blood sugar in range for the most of the ride my body felt great and I'm starting to hope the cold weather stays away until January!! I can't wait to do some more exploring in the most beautiful unknown parts of Rhode Island.
