Team Novo Nordisk (TNN) and The Team Type One Foundation (TT1) have changed diabetes in Rwanda but it is still very difficult to manage diabetes in Rwanda. The work continues for TNN and the TT1 Foundation, they will fight for everyone in the world living with diabetes.
The post above brought me to tears because I know what a challenge does for someone. I challenged myself when I decided to take control of my diabetes. The challenge was to ride my bike like the members of Team Novo Nordisk. I worked my butt off, I puked because I was so out of shape the first time I rode my bike. I had my blood sugars out of range while riding but I learned. Phil Southerland found my website and challenged me to take control of my diabetes. Almost ten years later, I’ve been lucky enough to realize a dream, I have control of my diabetes, I have the life I’ve always dreamed of and I’m helping change diabetes. I owe all of this to the members of Team Novo Nordisk and the members of the Team Type One Foundation. They have changed my life, and taught me how to dream.
Now they are doing this for those living with diabetes in Rwanda!! I get chills just thinking about it, we are all in charge of our own destiny when it comes to life with diabetes. We need help along the way and we need inspiration, we have that with the members of Team Novo Nordisk and The Team Type One Foundation!!
