What has been so tough the past two days are my blood sugars. When I'm running or riding my bike every single day I learned to roll with the high and low blood sugars. A spike in my blood sugar would usually be caused by suspending or a temp basal before a run or bike ride. The past two days I have had random blood sugar spikes and those have been a bit frustrating. This afternoon I did an hour or so of basketball drills with a few of the kids from the high school team and in that hour my blood sugar was great. As soon as I stopped my blood sugar sky rocketed, I was quickly up to 230 before I took insulin to fix the post exercise spike.
I have also been on this roller coaster while at work, my post breakfast spikes are nothing new but are more annoying when I'm taking a little more insulin to cover my breakfast because I haven't been working out. I look at this roller coaster ride as just a little bump in the road, I will definitely remember this around December when things slow down a little bit on the workout side of life. I look forward to the challenges and will try to enjoy the next few days off from running.
