Yesterday I had enough of the higher than average blood sugars and was feeling much better so I decided it was time to go for a nice run. After five inches of rain in two days I was waiting patiently for the rain to letup so i could go for a run. At 5pm the running window was upon Westerly, I began to stretch and mentally prepare for my run, of course as I started my run it began to sprinkle. I thought perfect, I could use a little bit of rain, Leanne and I were discussing how I need to run in the rain earlier in week. After the first mile I felt great and decided to go on my usual 5k training route. This route only has one option, I don't have the option of cutting the run short, it is 3.5 miles or nothing. Of course as I hit the two mile mark the rain came pouring down, I'm not wired correctly and just started to laugh. I mean I'm the one who decided to run, who am I going to be mad at? I felt like John Locke from Lost as the rain came pouring down.
I enjoyed every second of my run because I felt a one hundred times better than I did when I ran on Wednesday. My jubilation continued as my blood sugar stayed right around 140 for the rest of the evening, Being active at work today helped my mental state as well, my blood sugar flirted with 200 around 8am but was around 130 all day. I will continue my antibiotic battle for the next seven days, I feel confident and I'm looking forward to a 5k on Saturday morning and maybe Sunday if all goes well.
