For five years I have only had to worry about high blood sugars just after breakfast. The cause of the high blood sugars at breakfast was easy, my morning insulin was taking to long to kick in.
I have a new problem, after lunch high blood sugars. For the past three days my blood sugars have creeped up towards 300. My initial thought was the heat and being dehydrated. I have no idea how the heat or being dehydrated affects my blood sugar. That may be something I need to look in to. For now I will tweak my basal rates.
This afternoon, my blood sugar crept up to 300, an hour or two later I was down to 55. That roller coaster ride is never fun, I will then over treat the low and be high again. I want to put an end to this ride sooner rather than later. My hope is that the tweak to my basal rate will help. I will also take any advice that people will take about blood sugars, heat and dehydration.
