The smiles and laughter mean nothing however if my blood sugar is not in range. Running with almost 55lbs in a double stroller takes a little more out of me than running alone. Obviously checking my blood sugar numerous times before and after the race will be the best way to stay in range while racing. This might sound odd but race preparation begins the night before. Staying in range the night before sets the tone for the next day. Waking up with a blood sugar out of range makes the rest of the day a little tougher. As always I'm striving for perfection.
For the first time ever I will not be striving for perfection during the race. I want to run well but if I don't I will have memories that will last a lifetime. If I don't race because the kids want to go see the animals at the farm or go to the beach it will be ok. We will see what happens at 6pm and if they are ready to race with daddy.
