I decided that a quick sip of apple juice and a bite of a fiber one bar would be more than enough to get my blood sugar back in range. With that I returned to bed and was feeling good, I figured I'd sleep for two more hours and wake up with a very respectable blood sugar. Like any midnight low I had eaten to much and my blood sugar was above my set range at 5:30. That would make my breakfast a little more challenging, I need more insulin but to much and if be low while working which is never fun. The blood sugar would last until 10am, it was then that my blood sugar finally returned to my set range.
Obviously a night of out of range blood sugars is not what I want the night before a big race. My dinner will be the same as last night, a nice big bowl of pasta. Like a batter getting another at bat against a pitcher that just embarrassed me, I'm going to come back better than last night when the pasta beat me. I learned my lesson and know how to cover my pasta tonight. I have no other choice, a night of blood sugars in range will lead to a great race tomorrow.
