The only problem I foresee is how I'm going to keep all of my supplies with me during the run. I will need my meter, food, fluids and insulin. I believe all of this will fit into my amazingly cool runners fanny pack which will be convenient. The only worry is if my blood sugar goes below my set range, I may need more fluids or food than I have with me. The start line will have food which makes me feel better, I have done very well preparing for races and having blood sugars that are in range but it is not a given.
I'm hoping to run the first 10k aka my warmup at a ten minute mile pace, nothing crazy just a steady pace that will help me warmup. With a powerful storm heading our way late Sunday night I have a feeling the wind will be a huge factor on Sunday. My gut tells me the wind will be in my face as I run to the start and at our back for the race. This would be the perfect scenario. Then again it could be a cross wind which is never fun. My plan is to be loose at the start of the race, my body shouldn't be tired and I should have a good race if everything goes as planned. Sunday will be a good test and will be the first of many races where I run the course an hour before the race. Moving forward it is all about miles and pushing myself to new limits.
